OCTOBER 13, 2009: Please join us in welcoming our new MTA Program Coordinator Melissa Lozano to the Master Teacher Academies staff. Ms. Lozano is a doctoral student at UTEP and is a former science facilitator for Socorro ISD. Her office is located in the UTEP College of Education in room 206A, just a few feet from the main entrance to the building. The MTA office telephone number is 915-747-8420. August 19, 2009: Dr. Giza sent out an email letter on August 23, 2009 to all the participants that we have so far, welcoming them. That letter is also available as a web-page on this site, viewable from THIS LINK.
August 19, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies Master Teacher Academies began submitting Student Notice of Awards for participants - these electronic funds transfers go directly to tuition for a single fall course. About 30 were initiated on August 19, and the rest are being initiated August 20 and 21 as UTEP IDs become available. The tuition award (payment) process has several layers of approvals and takes several days to complete.
August 18, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies Master Teacher Academies is evaluating teacher applicants and notifying them during August 18-21. in addition it is placing them in their fall courses: EDT 5372, MSED 5322, or SIED 5325. There is further informatin on this at the courses page. We are paying tuition for these courses via an internal purchase order and participants do NOT have to pay for these courses - but may pay for others for which they might have registerd, outside of the MT course offerings. August 18, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies Master Teacher Academies Participant Information Survey is now closed, and we are not taking additional participants at this time.
August 10, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added the Master Teacher Academies Participant Information Survey to the home and news page.
August 6 and 7, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies program held informational sessions for interested teachers at Canutillo ISD (for Canutillo participants), and at Tsleta ISD (for EPISD and Ysleta ISD participants).
July 27, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added the Master Teacher Academies Application Eligibility Checklist to the registration page. During the last week of July 2009 we shall be activating the application links on that page so that participants may apply more easily.
July 26, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added some initial Workshop Descriptions information to the workshops page. We shall be adding more information there, such as trainer information, dates, and times so that participants may have all the workshop information that they need in one location.
July 26, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added Personnel Descriptions information to the personnel page. This gives users an idea of who is on the program management and instructional teams.
July 26, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added a number of useful links to the Links page. There are more coming, stay tuned!
July 25, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added the Course Descriptions section to the courses page. We shall be adding more information there, such as instructor information, course ID numbers and times so that participants may plan more easily.

July 25, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website added the Frequently Asked Questions section to the home page. This section will grow as questions from stakeholders, potential participants, and the community are integrated into the list. If it grows longer we may give it its own navigation tab.
July 24, 2009: The UTEP Master Teacher Academies website became active on July 24, 2009. Although several pages are placeholders or are unfinished, the structure of the site is laid out and ready to go! Stay tuned as we develop the pages further and add content.
